VENU

EVENT PRODUCTION | project management, branding, graphic design
Whether it's a conference, trade show, or festival, one of the hardest parts of being an attendee is figuring out how to get around the venue space. VENU is a mobile app that wants to help users realize the full potential of their experience.

VENU was my undergraduate capstone that I collaborated on with six peers made up of designers and developers. Our app serviced the organizers, exhibitors, and attendees of the 2017 Imagine RIT festival. My role was to aid in the design process, including user interface and experience, as well as developing print material.

MOCKUPS
MAP VIEW

01

The discovery mode can be toggled to show booths that are recommended for the user based on proximity.

02

Recommended booths appear in a collapsable list view and correlate with called out exhibits on the map.

03

Global navigation is intuitive and inviting for presumably both a first-time and day-of user.

SEARCH
01

Keywords track both tags and booths. Results are sorted by relevance based on proximity and previously visited booths.

02

Tags are on every booth card and attribute to recommended booths, while other tags can be pulled by booths visited.

03

Minimized booth cards expand when clicked on.

PROFILE
01
Users can add a picture with their name.

02

Development concepts included passive gameplay, with the progress bar leveled up by GPS and pedometer-related achievements.

03

The user's itinerary is updated as booths are added from the map view or search, sorted by both time frame and proximity.

SETTINGS
01
Any state-based interactions will show up inline with the VENU logo.

02

Information collected during the on-boarding process can be changed at any time, as well as car location.

03

Both VENU and Imagine RIT have plenty of backlog, both tucked away under the settings.
